IMPORTANT: THE SWIMCLEAR FILTER USES MULTIPLE CARTRIDGE ELEMENTS
The SwimClear cartridge filter is a multi-element design — it takes more than one CX880XRE element to fill the filter housing. If you need a complete set, Hayward offers a 4-pack option. The CX880XREPAK4 4-Pack is available on Poolaroo and is the most economical way to replace a full set at once.
The CX880XRE element installs directly into the SwimClear filter tank, providing the primary filtration surface that captures debris, particulates, and contaminants as pool water passes through. Hayward manufactures this element to the original fit and performance specification of the filter, ensuring full compatibility with the filter housing, manifold, and bypass controls.

Before ordering, measure your existing element: the CX880XRE is 25 1/2" long with a 7" outer diameter. If your current cartridge measures differently, cross-check the part number molded into the end cap — it is the most reliable way to confirm the correct replacement. When it's time to clean, rinse the pleats with a garden hose working top-to-bottom; avoid pressure washers, which can damage the filter media. For a deeper clean after heavy use or algae treatments, soak the element overnight in a dedicated cartridge filter cleaner to break down embedded oils and sunscreen. Because the SwimClear is a multi-element filter, replacing all elements at the same time ensures balanced flow across every cartridge and extends the service life of the full set.
