Before installing this fitting, inspect the mating threads on the filter port for any cracks or cross-threading. Apply thread sealant tape (PTFE) to the MPT threads and hand-tighten first, then snug with a wrench — avoid over-torquing, which can stress the filter housing. Confirm the barbed end matches your hose's inside diameter before finalising the connection.
