About This Item
The Hayward Directional Vent Valve with O-Ring (ECX1322A) is the OEM replacement vent valve assembly for Hayward StarClear Plus, StarClear, and Perflex Extended-Cycle DE filter models.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate the included O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. Browse our Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible silicone lubricant.
The directional vent valve allows air to be purged from the filter tank during startup and after servicing. Replacing a worn or leaking valve restores a proper air-tight seal at the top of the filter housing, ensuring the tank pressurises correctly and operates at rated performance.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
When installing this valve, apply a thin, even coat of silicone-based lubricant to the O-ring before seating it — this prevents tearing during assembly and ensures a leak-free seal at the filter housing. Find a compatible lubricant in our Pool Plumbing Lubricants collection. Inspect the O-ring for any nicks or flat spots before reassembly; if the ring shows any deformation, replace it before returning the filter to service.
