About This Item
The Hayward Bump Shaft (ECX1110) is the OEM replacement bump shaft for the Perflex Extended-Cycle DE Filter, compatible with both the EC65 and EC75 models.
The bump shaft is the actuating rod that drives the Perflex filter's signature bump handle mechanism. When the handle is pushed down, the bump shaft displaces the flex tubes to release accumulated DE cake back into suspension, restoring flow without interrupting the filtration cycle. A worn or damaged shaft prevents the bump mechanism from engaging properly, reducing cleaning effectiveness and extending backwash intervals.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
If the bump handle feels stiff, binds, or fails to spring back after actuation, inspect the bump shaft for corrosion, scoring, or bent sections before replacing — a damaged shaft can accelerate wear on the bump handle assembly. Replace the shaft at the first sign of physical damage to keep the Perflex bump mechanism operating smoothly and extend the life of the surrounding components.
