Before ordering, measure your existing cartridge — length and outer diameter are the two numbers that matter most. The CX760RE measures 17 3/8" long with an 8 15/16" outer diameter. If your old element has shrunk noticeably from those figures, it has likely been over-compressed and is past its service life. When cleaning, rinse pleats with a garden hose from the inside out and soak periodically in a cartridge filter cleaner to dissolve body oils and sunscreen buildup — never use a pressure washer, which damages the pleat media and shortens element life.
