Before installing the SX200Z5, clean the O-ring seat with a lint-free cloth to remove any grit or old lubricant residue — even a small particle trapped under the O-ring can cause a slow leak under pressure. Apply a thin, even coat of silicone-based lubricant (never petroleum-based products such as Vaseline, which degrade rubber O-rings over time) before seating the ring. Inspect the O-ring seat on the filter body for nicks or corrosion before reassembling — a damaged seat will cause the new O-ring to fail prematurely regardless of lubricant.
