About This Item
The Hayward Large O-Ring (SX220Z2) is the OEM replacement tank body O-ring for SwimClear multi-element cartridge filters, ProGrid DE filters, and MaxFlo pump families.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. Browse our Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible silicone lubricant.
This large-format O-ring seals the tank body joint on compatible Hayward filters and pump housings, maintaining a pressure-tight closure that prevents leaks at the tank seam. Replacing a worn, cracked, or flattened O-ring at the first sign of weeping at the tank joint prevents water loss and protects the surrounding equipment pad.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
Before seating this O-ring, clean the groove thoroughly to remove any old rubber fragments or mineral deposits — even a small piece of debris can prevent a full seal and cause a persistent weep. Apply a thin, even coat of a silicone-based lubricant (never petroleum-based) to the O-ring before installation. Browse Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible option. Inspect the mating groove surface for nicks or corrosion; a damaged groove will defeat a new O-ring regardless of lubricant.
