About This Item
The Hayward Metal Reinforced Filter Seal (DEX2422Z2) is the OEM replacement tank seal for Hayward SwimClear Multi-Element Cartridge Filters and ProGrid DE Filters. The metal reinforcement provides added structural integrity to maintain a pressure-tight seal between the filter tank halves.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this seal with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. Browse our Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible silicone lubricant.
This metal-reinforced seal seats at the tank joint to prevent bypass leakage under operating pressure. Replacing a worn or damaged tank seal restores proper filter pressure containment and prevents water loss at the filter housing.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
Before reinstalling or fitting the new tank seal, clean the seal groove thoroughly to remove any debris or old lubricant residue. Apply a thin, even coat of silicone-based lubricant to the seal before seating it — this prevents tearing during assembly and ensures a consistent pressure-tight fit. Browse Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible silicone lubricant.
