About This Item
The Hayward Cover O-Ring (SPX0715Z1) is the OEM replacement sealing O-ring for the cover assembly on Hayward VariFlo and SelectaFlo multiport filter valves.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. Browse our Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible silicone lubricant.
This O-ring seats at the valve cover to maintain a watertight seal between the cover and valve body, preventing pressurised water from bypassing the multiport rotor assembly. Replacing a worn, cracked, or deformed cover O-ring restores proper valve sealing and eliminates leaks at the top of the valve head.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
Before fitting the new O-ring, clean the cover groove thoroughly to remove any residue from the old O-ring. Apply a thin, even coat of silicone-based lubricant — never petroleum jelly or WD-40 — to keep the O-ring pliable and ensure a leak-free seat. Browse Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible silicone option. Inspect the valve cover and groove for cracks or scoring at the same time; a damaged seating surface will cause a new O-ring to fail prematurely.
