About This Item
The Hayward Drain Cap and Gasket (SX180HG) is the OEM replacement drain cap and gasket for Hayward ProSeries sand filters, covering both top-mount and side-mount models across the 16" through 30" tank range.
This cap and gasket assembly seals the drain port at the base of the filter tank, allowing the filter to be depressurized and drained for maintenance, sand replacement, or winterization without leaking at the drain opening.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
Before reinstalling the drain cap, inspect the gasket for any flattening, cracking, or distortion — a compromised gasket is the most common cause of drain port weeping even after the cap is hand-tightened. Replace the cap and gasket together (as this assembly provides) rather than reusing an old gasket with a new cap. Hand-tighten only; over-torquing the plastic cap can crack the tank fitting.
