The Hayward Seal Assembly (SPX1600Z2) is the OEM replacement shaft seal for the Super Pump High Efficiency and Super Pump XE pump families, including variable speed models equipped with OmniX controls.
The shaft seal prevents water from migrating along the motor shaft into the motor housing. Replacing a worn or leaking seal at first sign of moisture around the pump motor mount protects the motor from water intrusion damage and restores a dry, secure pump assembly.

When replacing the shaft seal, inspect the seal plate and motor bracket for scoring or mineral deposits before installing the new assembly. Even a minor groove in the seal seat can cause a new seal to weep within a season. Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly and confirm the impeller is torqued to spec before closing up the pump wet end.
