The Hayward Dark Gray Weir (SPX1082KDGR) is the OEM replacement weir door for Hayward Auto-Skim in-ground pool skimmers in Dark Gray.
IMPORTANT: COLOR-SPECIFIC PART
This is the Dark Gray version of the Hayward weir. Confirm the color of your existing weir before ordering — the white version is a separate part number and is not interchangeable from a cosmetic standpoint.
The weir is the floating flap door at the skimmer throat that regulates water flow into the skimmer basket. It allows surface water and debris to pass into the skimmer during pump operation, then floats closed when the pump stops — preventing debris from washing back into the pool. Replacing a damaged or warped weir restores proper skimming action and debris retention.

Inspect the weir each season for warping, brittleness, or a hinge pivot that no longer swings freely. A weir that sticks open allows debris to drift back into the pool when the pump cycles off; one that sticks closed starves the skimmer throat and can cause the pump to air-lock. Either symptom is a straightforward sign the weir is due for replacement.
