The Hayward Weir (SPX1082K) is the OEM replacement weir door for Hayward's Auto-Skim skimmer lines, spanning the SP1082, SP1084, and SP1085 series for both concrete and vinyl/fiberglass pool applications.
The weir is the hinged floating door at the skimmer throat that regulates water flow into the skimmer body. It allows surface debris to pass through during normal pump operation while preventing debris from flowing back into the pool when the pump shuts off. A worn, warped, or cracked weir compromises skimmer efficiency and debris retention.

Inspect the weir each spring when reopening the pool. UV exposure and cold-weather cycling cause the hinge tabs to become brittle over time — a weir that doesn't swing freely will pass less surface debris into the skimmer and reduce overall skimming efficiency. Replace at the first sign of cracking or stiff movement to keep your skimmer operating at full effectiveness.
