Check your skimmer basket at least once a week during heavy-use season. A basket more than half full of debris restricts flow to the pump and can cause the pump to run dry. Measure your existing basket's outside diameter before ordering — some SP1091 and SP1096 variants shipped with different basket sizes depending on production date.
