The Hayward Standard Leaf Canister (W560) is an in-line debris pre-filter designed to intercept leaves and debris before they reach your pool's filter system. Its see-through Lexan body lets you monitor the basket at a glance, and the easy-open lid provides quick access for routine cleaning.
Installed between two existing suction hoses, the W560 captures leaves and debris in its extra-large basket or bag before they enter the pump and filter. Its bypass design maintains proper water flow to the pump even as debris accumulates in the canister.

Empty the leaf canister basket regularly during heavy debris seasons — a full basket restricts flow to the pump and can cause the pump to lose prime. Because the Lexan body is transparent, you can check the fill level without opening the lid, making it easy to stay ahead of maintenance before flow is affected.
