The Hayward Swivel Nut and Knob (SPX1600PN) is the OEM replacement hand knob assembly for Hayward Super Pump, Super Pump XE, and Super Pump VS pump models.
This two-piece assembly — the swivel nut and the hand knob — secures the pump strainer lid or access cover, allowing tool-free removal for basket cleaning and routine service. Replacing a cracked, stripped, or missing knob restores a secure, leak-free seal at the strainer housing.

When installing the replacement knob, hand-tighten only — overtightening can crack the knob or damage the lid threads. If the strainer lid O-ring is also showing wear, replace it at the same time to ensure a complete, leak-free service.
