The Hayward Strainer Cover Kit (SPX3200DLS) is the OEM replacement strainer cover assembly for Hayward TriStar VS and TriStar XE variable-speed pumps. This kit includes the strainer cover, lock ring, and O-ring — everything needed to restore a proper seal at the pump's strainer housing.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY

The strainer cover, lock ring, and O-ring work together to create a watertight seal over the pump's strainer basket chamber. Replacing these components as a matched set addresses cover cracks, lock ring damage, or O-ring wear that can cause air leaks, loss of prime, or water seepage at the strainer housing.

When installing this kit, always apply a thin, even coat of silicone-based lubricant to the O-ring before seating it — this prevents tearing during installation and helps the lock ring thread on smoothly without cross-threading. Never use petroleum-based products on pool O-rings. Find a compatible silicone lubricant in our Pool Plumbing Lubricants collection. As good practice, inspect the strainer cover and lock ring threads for hairline cracks each time you service the basket — early replacement prevents air ingestion and loss of prime.
