About This Item
The Hayward Strainer Cover O-Ring (SPX3200S) is the OEM replacement sealing O-ring for the strainer pot lid on Hayward TriStar VS and TriStar XE variable-speed pumps.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. Browse our Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible silicone lubricant.
This O-ring seats between the strainer pot body and the strainer cover, creating the watertight seal that maintains pump prime and prevents air from entering the system at the basket access point. Replacing a worn, cracked, or deformed O-ring restores a proper seal and eliminates air leaks at the strainer lid.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
Inspect the strainer cover O-ring every time you clean the pump basket. A thin film of silicone-based lubricant — never petroleum-based grease — extends O-ring life and prevents the lid from seizing after prolonged sun exposure. Browse our Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible silicone lubricant. Replace the O-ring at the first sign of cracking, flattening, or a lid that no longer seats firmly — a compromised seal allows air ingestion that can cause the pump to lose prime.
