About This Item
The Hayward Viton Cover O-Ring (CLX200K) is the OEM replacement lid seal for Hayward's CL200 and CL220 series automatic chlorine and bromine feeders.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. Browse our Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible silicone lubricant.
This Viton O-ring seats at the feeder's cover joint to maintain a chemical-tight seal between the lid and the body of the feeder. A properly seated O-ring prevents chlorine or bromine off-gassing at the cover seam and stops chemical leaks at the feeder housing. Replace this seal when the cover no longer closes firmly, when you detect chemical odour at the lid seam, or any time the O-ring shows cracking, flattening, or distortion.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
Viton is selected for this application specifically because of its superior resistance to the aggressive chlorine and bromine chemistry inside the feeder — standard EPDM or buna-N O-rings degrade rapidly in this environment. Before fitting the new O-ring, clean the groove thoroughly to remove any dried chemical residue or old lubricant. Apply a thin, even coat of a silicone-based pool lubricant — never petroleum-based products, which attack rubber — to keep the seal pliable and ensure the lid seats without requiring excessive force. Browse Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible option.
