Before ordering, measure your old element: it should be 19 3/4" long with a 7" outer diameter. If those numbers don't match, double-check your filter model number — the StarClear range spans several tank sizes, each with its own element. When it's time to clean, rinse the pleats with a garden hose working top to bottom; avoid a pressure washer, which can damage the media. For deep-seated sunscreen and body oil buildup, soak the element overnight in a dedicated cartridge filter cleaner before rinsing, and you'll get noticeably more service life between replacements.
