About This Item
The Hayward Air Relief Assembly with O-Ring (CXRLV1001) is the OEM replacement air relief valve assembly for the SwimClear Single Element Cartridge Filter, designed to release trapped air from the filter tank and restore proper water flow and pressure.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate the included O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. Browse our Pool Plumbing Lubricants for a compatible silicone lubricant.
This assembly provides the manual air bleed function at the top of the filter tank. Opening the valve allows entrapped air to escape before and during startup, preventing air locks that can disrupt filter performance and cause pressure fluctuations. The included O-ring ensures a watertight seal at the valve seat.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
Before reinstalling the air relief assembly, apply a thin coat of silicone-based lubricant to the O-ring — this prevents tearing during installation and ensures a leak-free seal under pressure. Avoid petroleum-based greases, which degrade rubber O-rings over time. Find a compatible option in our Pool Plumbing Lubricants collection. After reinstallation, open the valve slowly during filter startup to bleed air before closing it fully — this protects the tank from pressure spikes caused by trapped air.
