About This Item
The Hayward Basket Support Ring (SPX1082D) is the OEM replacement support ring for the Auto-Skim skimmer line, designed to hold the strainer basket securely in position within the skimmer body.
This ring seats beneath the skimmer basket to keep it properly positioned during operation, ensuring debris is captured efficiently and the basket can be removed and replaced without obstruction. Replacing a worn, cracked, or missing support ring restores correct basket seating and prevents debris bypass.

When servicing the skimmer basket area, inspect the support ring for hairline cracks or deformation — a damaged ring allows the basket to sit unevenly, reducing debris capture and making the basket harder to lift out. Replace the ring at the first sign of brittleness, especially in older concrete-pool skimmers that experience seasonal temperature swings.
