The Hayward Face Plate (SPX1084L) is the OEM replacement faceplate for Hayward Auto-Skim skimmers used in vinyl and fiberglass pool installations.
This faceplate mounts at the pool wall opening where the skimmer meets the liner, providing a finished, watertight seal between the skimmer throat and the pool interior.

When replacing the faceplate on a vinyl or fiberglass pool, inspect the liner cut-out edge and the skimmer gasket at the same time. A worn or compressed gasket behind the faceplate is the most common source of seepage at this joint. Replace the gasket if it shows any flattening or cracking — the faceplate and gasket are typically serviced together to avoid pulling the wall fitting twice.
