The Hayward Seal Assembly (SPX1500KA) is the OEM replacement mechanical shaft seal for the PowerFlo LX and PowerFlo Matrix pump lines.
The mechanical shaft seal sits between the pump's wet end and motor, preventing water from migrating along the motor shaft. Replacing a worn or leaking seal restores a watertight barrier at this critical junction and protects the motor from water intrusion damage.

When replacing the shaft seal, inspect the seal seat and the motor shaft for scoring or corrosion before installing the new assembly. A damaged shaft surface or seal seat will cause a new seal to leak prematurely. Replace both components together if wear is evident, and never run the pump dry — even briefly — as dry operation is the most common cause of premature seal failure.
