The Hayward Diffuser Gasket (SPX1600R) is the OEM replacement gasket for the Super Pump and Super Pump XE pump families, providing a precision seal between the diffuser and pump body to maintain hydraulic efficiency.
This gasket seats at the diffuser interface inside the pump wet end, creating the seal that keeps water flowing through the impeller assembly at rated efficiency. A worn or compressed gasket allows bypass flow that reduces pump output — replacing it restores the designed hydraulic path.

When servicing the pump wet end, replace the diffuser gasket as a matter of course even if it appears intact — compression set and minor cracking are difficult to spot until the pump is reassembled and running. Confirm the part number printed on your existing gasket or the position reference in your pump's exploded diagram (position #3 for the High Efficiency models, position #8 for the XE and VS variants) to ensure you have the correct replacement before disassembly.
