The Hayward Strainer Cover Kit (SPX2300DLS) is the OEM replacement strainer cover assembly for MaxFlo XE and MaxFlo VS variable-speed pumps.
The strainer cover seals the pump's strainer housing, providing access to the basket for routine cleaning while maintaining a watertight seal during operation. Replacing a cracked, warped, or leaking strainer cover restores a proper pressure seal and prevents air from entering the pump intake.

When installing the new strainer cover, inspect the cover O-ring at the same time. A worn or flattened O-ring is the most common cause of air leaks and loss of prime on these pumps — replacing both the cover and the O-ring together avoids a repeat service call.
