The Hayward Strainer Housing (SPX5500C) is the OEM replacement strainer housing for the PowerFlo Matrix series of above-ground pool pumps.
The strainer housing forms the front-end enclosure of the pump's pre-filter basket chamber, containing the strainer basket and directing water flow into the pump before it reaches the impeller. Replacing a cracked, warped, or leaking strainer housing restores a proper seal at the pump inlet and prevents air from entering the wet end.
