The Hayward CL220EF is an off-line automatic chlorine feeder that delivers dependable, dial-controlled tablet chlorination for in-ground pools — without cutting into your existing plumbing. Holding up to 9 lbs of slow-dissolving Trichlor tablets, it taps into your return line with saddle clamps and meters sanitizer at an adjustable rate you set.
IMPORTANT: TRICHLOR TABLETS ONLY
Use only slow-dissolving Trichlor tablets. NEVER use fast-dissolving tablets or Calcium Hypochlorite, and NEVER mix chemicals in this feeder — doing so can cause a dangerous reaction.

- Off-line, no-cut installation using saddle-clamp taps and 8 ft of included feed tubing (CLX220J) — fits 1-1/2 in. or 2 in. pipe.

Application
Install on the return line after the heater (or after the filter if no heater is present) — never before heating equipment. Maintain a chlorine residual of approximately 1.0–1.5 ppm, checking daily and adjusting the dial valve as needed.
Compatibility Note
Never install this feeder directly into copper plumbing, as pipe damage may occur. If your system has brass or bronze backwash valves, consult your dealer.
Poolaroo Pro Tip
When servicing the cover O-ring (CLX200K), lubricate it with a non-petroleum lubricant only, such as Hayward Jack's Lube #327 — petroleum products will degrade the seal. Before winter, drain all water, remove every tablet and tablet fragment, rinse thoroughly, and replace the cover and drain plug before freezing temperatures arrive.
