The Hayward Auto Air Relief Tube (CX1100Z4) is the OEM replacement air relief tube for StarClear Plus cartridge filters, designed to automatically vent trapped air from the filter tank during startup and operation.
This 26-inch plastic tube channels air out of the filter housing through the manual air relief assembly, maintaining proper water flow and preventing air lock conditions that reduce filtration performance. Replacing a cracked or missing air relief tube restores the automatic venting function to your filter's air relief valve system.

When replacing the air relief tube, inspect the air relief valve assembly and its O-ring at the same time. A degraded O-ring at the valve seat is a common cause of air relief leaks — addressing both components during the same service visit prevents a repeat opening of the filter tank.
