When reinstalling the actuator, inspect the mounting boss on the valve body for any cracking or deformation before fitting the new screws. Damaged threads in the valve body will prevent a secure mount regardless of screw condition. Hand-tighten to seat, then snug evenly in a cross pattern to avoid canting the actuator on the valve stem.
