System Integration & Installation Notes
The PowerFlo Matrix connects to existing above-ground plumbing through quick-connect threaded intake and discharge ports; Hayward recommends union fittings at both connections for easier service and winter removal. Per Hayward's installation requirements, this pump must be powered through a dedicated, GFCI-protected circuit — never through an extension cord — and the strainer housing must be filled with water before startup to protect the mechanical shaft seal from dry-run damage.
