This spray-on application is engineered specifically for filter cartridges and DE grids, penetrating deep into the fabric pleats to release organic buildup that backwashing alone cannot remove. Regular use restores water flow, lowers system pressure, and extends the life of your filtration media.

Technician's Instructions
Application: Turn off the pump and remove the cartridge or grids. Rinse loose debris with a hose. Spray Power Blue directly into the pleats, saturating the fabric. Allow the product to dwell for 4 to 5 minutes—do not let it dry completely. Rinse thoroughly with a high-pressure garden hose nozzle until all foam and purple color are gone.
Safety Note: This is a concentrated chemical cleaner. Always wear protective gloves and eyewear during application.
Pro Tip
While chemicals restore flow, they cannot fix physical wear. If your tank pressure remains high after a deep cleaning, the fabric pleats may be impacted beyond repair. In that case, you need a Replacement Filter Cartridge.
Maintain the Clean: To prevent rapid re-soiling of your filter, add Enzymes to your weekly maintenance routine to digest oils before they reach the filter. While the system is disassembled, use Pool Brushes & Scrubbers to clean the interior of the filter tank housing.
Product Dosage
For Cartridge Filters: Adjust spray nozzle to stream, spray inside fabric pleats. Wait 4 minutes. Hose off using garden hose. For best results, allow to air dry.
For Open Tank DE Filters: Drain water from tank exposing grids. Rinse off old DE powder. Spray directly onto the grids until saturated. Wait 4 minutes. Hose off using garden hose with spray nozzle. Open inlet valvue to allow water to rise over grids. Close inlet valves, drain tank, refill tank precoat as usual.
For Pressure DE Filters: Drain water from tank, remove lid and hose old DE of of fabric. Remove grids as recommended by filter manufacturer. Spray directly onto the grids until saturated. Wait 4 minutes. Hose off.
NOTE: This product is safe for use as a general purpose cleaner. We’ve found that it does a great job cleaning barbecue grills or anything with heavy grease!
