The Pentair 0-106 O-ring (24700-0073) is the OEM replacement tank O-ring for the Sta-Rite HRS24-01 pool and spa sand filter.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This O-ring seals the tank body of the HRS24-01 sand filter, maintaining a watertight pressure boundary at the tank lid or valve connection. A degraded or improperly seated O-ring is the most common cause of water leakage at the filter head. Replacing it restores the seal and returns the filter to full operating pressure.

Before installing this O-ring, clean the groove thoroughly to remove any debris, old lubricant residue, or cracked rubber fragments from the previous O-ring. Apply a thin, even coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant around the entire O-ring before seating it. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they degrade rubber O-rings and will cause premature failure.
