About This Item
OEM O-Ring Replacement for Pentair Swimquip Pool and Spa Filters
The Pentair 16-Inch O-Ring (Part #24700-0068) is the OEM replacement tank O-ring for Pentair Swimquip HRS Series and DES Series pool and spa filters. If your filter is losing pressure at the tank seam or weeping water from the lid joint, this O-ring is the service part to address it.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This 16-inch O-ring seats between the filter tank body and lid, maintaining a watertight seal under operating pressure. A cracked, flattened, or displaced O-ring at this joint causes pressure loss and water leakage around the filter head. Replacing it restores the filter's pressure integrity without requiring tank or lid replacement.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
Before seating this O-ring, clean the groove in the filter tank and lid of any debris, old lubricant residue, or hardened rubber fragments from the previous O-ring. A clean, dry groove ensures the new O-ring seats evenly and doesn't roll or pinch during reassembly. Always apply a thin, even coat of silicone lubricant — never petroleum-based grease, which degrades rubber — before installation. The Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant is the correct OEM-compatible choice for this application.
