The Pentair Cap Drain (190030Z) is the OEM replacement drain plug cap for the FNS Plus, Quad D.E., and Clean & Clear Plus filter lines — sold individually, one cap per listing.

Part 190030Z applies to FNS Plus and Clean & Clear Plus filters manufactured after May 21, 2005. Verify the manufacture date on your filter's serial label or confirm the part number in your filter's parts diagram before ordering.

The cap drain seals the drain port on the filter tank body, keeping the system under pressure during normal filtration. A cracked, missing, or improperly sealing cap will cause the filter to bleed pressure at the drain port and may result in water loss around the base of the tank. Replacing this cap restores a watertight seal at the drain without requiring any disassembly of the filter internals.

Before threading the new cap drain in, inspect the drain port threads on the tank body for debris, scale buildup, or cross-threading damage — a contaminated port is the most common reason a new cap fails to seal. If your filter model uses a separate O-ring or gasket at the drain port seat, check that seal at the same time. A fresh cap drain paired with a flattened or cracked drain O-ring will not hold pressure. Refer to your filter's parts diagram to confirm whether a companion drain O-ring is part of the drain assembly on your specific model.
