The Pentair 355334Z is the OEM replacement #8-32 hex washer head diffuser screw for the Pentair Challenger, SuperFlo, and SuperMax pump series. This is the correct fastener used to secure the diffuser assembly within the pump housing.
IMPORTANT: 3 SCREWS REQUIRED PER PUMP
Three screws are required per pump for a complete diffuser service. This listing is for one screw — order three units to complete a full service in a single step.
The diffuser screw holds the diffuser in precise alignment inside the pump volute. A stripped, corroded, or missing screw allows the diffuser to shift under operating pressure, disrupting hydraulic efficiency and potentially causing internal wear. Replacing worn screws at each service interval is standard practice when the pump is opened for impeller or seal service.

Pro Tip
When reassembling the diffuser, tighten all three screws evenly in a cross pattern to seat the diffuser squarely against the volute and prevent uneven loading on the housing. Stainless steel screws can gall into aluminium or plastic housings if over-torqued — snug is sufficient. Inspect all three screws for corrosion or thread damage each time the pump is opened for impeller or seal service, and replace as a set rather than individually.
