About This Item
The Pentair Front Housing O-Ring (355329Z) is the OEM replacement sealing O-ring for the Challenger High Flow pump series, preventing water from bypassing the joint between the front housing and the pump body.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This O-ring seats between the front housing and the pump body on the Challenger High Flow pump. A failed or degraded front housing O-ring allows water to leak at the housing joint, reducing system pressure and accelerating wear on surrounding components. Replacing this O-ring at the first sign of seepage restores the housing seal and protects the pump from further damage.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
When replacing this O-ring, clean the housing groove thoroughly before seating the new ring — debris or residue left in the groove is a leading cause of premature seal failure. Apply a thin, even coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant before installation to ensure the O-ring seats correctly and resists compression set over time. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they degrade rubber O-rings and will void the seal quickly.
