About This Item
The Pentair Air Bleed Tube Assembly (170029) is the OEM replacement air bleed tube assembly for the Clean & Clear Plus 320 sq. ft. cartridge filter and the Quad D.E. Filter 60.
IMPORTANT: DATE-OF-MANUFACTURE REQUIREMENT
Part 170029 is designed for Clean & Clear Plus 320 sq. ft. filters manufactured after November 1998. Confirm your filter's manufacture date before ordering — filters produced before 11/98 require a different air bleed tube assembly.
The air bleed tube assembly channels trapped air out of the filter tank during startup and operation, allowing the filter to purge air pockets and maintain proper water flow through the filter media. A damaged or missing air bleed tube can result in air locks, loss of prime, or reduced filtration performance.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
When replacing the air bleed tube assembly, inspect the manual air relief valve and its O-ring at the same time. These components work together — if the tube assembly has failed, the relief valve seal is often worn as well. Replacing both during the same service call avoids a repeat teardown. Always depressurize and shut off the pump before opening the filter tank.
