The Pentair Bottom Manifold (170040) is the OEM replacement bottom manifold for the Clean & Clear Plus cartridge filter series and the Quad D.E. filter series. If your filter is losing pressure, bypassing filtration media, or showing signs of cracked or broken internal manifold components, this is the direct replacement part.
IMPORTANT: MODEL DATE RESTRICTION — CLEAN & CLEAR PLUS FILTERS
This bottom manifold is compatible with Clean & Clear Plus filters manufactured after December 2000. Filters produced before this date use a different manifold design. Check the manufacture date on your filter's label before ordering.
The bottom manifold sits at the base of the filter's internal cartridge or D.E. grid stack, distributing flow evenly across the filtration media and directing filtered water back into the return line. A damaged or cracked bottom manifold allows water to bypass the filter media entirely, resulting in unfiltered water returning to the pool. Replacing this part restores proper hydraulic distribution and full filtration performance.
