About This Item

The Pentair 170023 is the OEM replacement lid assembly for the American Products Clean and Clear Plus cartridge filter, 240 sq ft model.

What It Does

The tank lid seals the top of the filter housing, maintaining system pressure during operation. A cracked, warped, or leaking lid compromises the filter's ability to hold pressure and can result in water loss and reduced filtration performance. Replacing the lid assembly restores a proper pressure seal to the filter tank.

Before installing the replacement lid, inspect the tank lid O-ring for wear, cracking, or flattening. A damaged O-ring will prevent the new lid from sealing correctly regardless of fit. Replace the O-ring at the same time as the lid to ensure a proper pressure seal and avoid a repeat service call.
