About This Item
The Pentair 170018 is the OEM replacement tank bottom assembly (lower housing half) for the FNS Plus 60 sq. ft. D.E. Filter (FNSP60). If your filter tank is cracked, damaged, or leaking at the tank seam, this is the confirmed OEM lower shell for that specific model.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: FNSP60 ONLY — CONFIRM YOUR MODEL BEFORE ORDERING
This tank bottom assembly is designed specifically for the FNS Plus 60 sq. ft. filter (FNSP60). It is not interchangeable with other FNS Plus sizes (36, 48, 72 sq. ft.). Check the model number on your filter's data label before placing your order.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: TANK BOTTOM HOUSING ONLY
This listing is for the lower tank shell only. The tank top half, clamp band, tank O-ring, drain assembly, internal manifold, and filter grids are not included and are sold separately.
The tank bottom is the lower structural half of the D.E. filter's pressure vessel. Together with the tank top, it houses the internal grid assembly and maintains the water pressure needed for filtration. A cracked, spider-fractured, or warped lower shell cannot maintain a proper seal and must be replaced to restore safe filter operation.

Pro Tip
When replacing the tank bottom, inspect the mating sealing surface on your existing tank top half for cracks, warping, or surface crazing. If the top half shows any signs of age-related stress, consider replacing both halves at the same time — a new lower shell paired with a compromised upper half can result in an imperfect seal at the tank joint. While the tank is open, this is also the ideal opportunity to replace the tank O-ring and inspect the clamp band assembly for corrosion or stretch. Refer to your FNSP60 parts diagram for the correct companion part numbers for your specific revision.
