The Pentair 271148Z Spider Gasket is the OEM replacement diverter gasket for the 2-inch HiFlow top-mount and side-mount multiport valves — including PacFab Multiport Valves and American Valves now sold and supported under the Pentair name.
What It Does
The spider gasket seals each port channel inside the multiport valve body, directing water flow to the correct path for every valve position — filter, backwash, rinse, waste, recirculate, and closed. When the gasket cracks, tears, or develops compressed flat spots, water bypasses the intended port. This is the most common cause of filter media entering the pool or water returning to the pool during backwash. Replacing the spider gasket restores correct port-to-port sealing and normal valve operation.
