This manifold o-ring seals the manifold assembly on the Sta-Rite Max-E-Therm heater. A compromised o-ring at this junction can result in water or gas leaks at the manifold connection — replacing it restores a secure, pressure-tight seal and is a standard step in manifold service or removal.

When servicing the manifold on a Max-E-Therm heater, always replace the manifold o-ring as a matter of course — even if it appears intact. O-rings on heater manifolds are subjected to repeated thermal cycling that degrades the seal over time. Before reinstalling, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant to seat the o-ring cleanly and prevent pinching during reassembly. Have a licensed pool professional or qualified HVAC technician perform this service.
