The Pentair Manifold Bypass Valve Kit (77707-0001) is the OEM replacement bypass valve assembly for the Pentair MasterTemp and Max-E-Therm pool and spa heater lines.

For MasterTemp heaters, this kit fits models with the New Header Design manufactured from October 2012 to present, including ASME-rated variants. Heaters built before October 2012 use a different header design and may require a different part. Confirm your heater's manufacturing date before ordering.
The manifold bypass valve regulates water flow through the heater's internal manifold, allowing a portion of the water supply to bypass the heat exchanger under certain flow or pressure conditions. When this valve fails or develops a leak, it can cause inconsistent heating, reduced efficiency, or water bypass that prevents the heater from reaching setpoint. Replacing it with this OEM kit restores correct flow balance through the heater manifold.

Before ordering, locate the data plate on your heater and confirm the model number and manufacture date. MasterTemp heaters built before October 2012 use an earlier header design — this kit is specified for the New Header Design (October 2012 to present) on those models. If your heater model number ends in ASME, confirm the header design date the same way. When replacing the bypass valve, have your licensed technician inspect the surrounding manifold fittings and O-rings for wear and replace them at the same service visit to avoid a repeat call-back.
