The Pentair Hex Lock Nut with Nylon Lock (58001000) is the OEM replacement fastener for the FNS Plus series D.E. filters, sold individually.
This nylon-insert hex lock nut secures internal filter components within the FNS Plus D.E. filter housing. The nylon locking collar resists loosening from vibration and pressure cycling, maintaining a secure assembly through normal filter operation. A worn or damaged lock nut can allow components to shift, compromising filter integrity and performance.

The nylon insert in a lock nut is a one-time locking mechanism — once the nut has been fully tightened and removed, the nylon collar may be compromised. Replace with a new 58001000 each time the assembly is disassembled to ensure a reliable hold on reassembly.
