About This Item
The Pentair 071445 is the OEM replacement seal plate O-ring for Pentair WhisperFlo WFE inground pool and spa pumps manufactured prior to June 1994. If your pump predates this cutoff, this is the correct seal plate O-ring for your unit.
IMPORTANT: VERIFY MANUFACTURE DATE BEFORE ORDERING
This O-ring is designed specifically for WhisperFlo WFE pumps built before June 1994. Pumps manufactured after this date use a different seal plate O-ring. Check the date code on your pump's nameplate before ordering.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This seal plate O-ring maintains the watertight seal between the pump's seal plate and volute on pre-June 1994 WhisperFlo WFE pumps. A degraded or damaged O-ring at this location will allow water to bypass the seal area, resulting in leaks at the pump body. Replacing this O-ring restores the correct seal and prevents water loss at the pump housing.

Pro Tip
Before installing, lightly coat this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant — never petroleum-based products, which degrade rubber O-rings. The Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant is the OEM-matched option for Pentair equipment. When servicing the seal plate area, inspect the shaft seal at the same time — both components are accessible during this service and replacing them together avoids a repeat teardown.
