The Pentair BioShield Ballast (523033) is the OEM replacement previous-generation ballast for the Pentair BioShield UV Disinfection System, 150-watt model. If your BioShield UV system was manufactured before Pentair revised the ballast design, this is the correct power supply for your unit.

IMPORTANT: PREVIOUS GENERATION BALLAST — VERIFY YOUR UNIT BEFORE ORDERING
This is the previous-generation ballast for the 150W BioShield UV system and is rated for 115V only. Pentair revised the ballast design during the production run of this model. Confirm that your BioShield unit requires the previous-generation ballast — check your equipment serial number or the label on your existing ballast — before placing your order. Do not order based on wattage alone.
The ballast (power supply) regulates and delivers the correct electrical current to the UV lamp inside the BioShield UV disinfection system. A failed ballast will prevent the UV lamp from igniting, disabling the system's ability to neutralise pathogens in the water. Replacing the ballast restores full UV disinfection output without replacing the entire unit.
