What It Does
The laterals mount at the base of the filter's standpipe assembly and allow filtered water to pass through their slotted openings while retaining the sand bed inside the tank. A cracked or broken lateral allows sand to bypass into the pool return lines — replacing the damaged lateral restores proper filtration and eliminates sand carry-over into the pool.
