About This Item
The Pentair Pipe Assembly SD35 (152229) is the OEM replacement pipe assembly for the Sand Dollar SD35 sand filter and compatible Cristal-Flo II 16-inch tank filter systems.
IMPORTANT: MODEL YEAR RESTRICTION — CRISTAL-FLO II
This pipe assembly is confirmed for Cristal-Flo II filter systems manufactured 2009 and beyond. If your Cristal-Flo II system predates 2009, verify the part number against your equipment's manual or the original part before ordering.
The pipe assembly forms the central internal pipe structure of the filter tank, directing water flow through the filter media and returning filtered water to the return line. A cracked, warped, or improperly seated pipe assembly will cause unfiltered water to bypass the media and return to the pool — replacing this assembly restores proper filtration flow paths within the tank.

Pro Tip
When replacing the pipe assembly, inspect the laterals and the multiport valve O-rings at the same time — these components are accessed during the same disassembly and often show comparable wear. Addressing them together avoids reopening the tank for a second service call in the same season.
