The Pentair Standpipe Assembly (152226) is the OEM replacement tank piping assembly for the Sand Dollar SD80 blow-moulded sand filter and the Sta-Rite Cristal-Flo II high-rate sand filter series, designed for the 26-inch tank configuration.
What It Does
The standpipe assembly forms the central internal piping structure of the filter tank, channelling filtered water from the laterals at the base of the sand bed up through the tank and out to the return line. A failed or cracked standpipe allows unfiltered water — and in some cases, sand — to bypass the filter media and return directly to the pool. Replacing this assembly with the correct OEM part restores proper flow path integrity and protects downstream equipment from sand contamination.

Sand filters are most commonly opened for standpipe service during seasonal startups and sand replacement. If you're removing the standpipe assembly, inspect the lateral assembly at the base while the tank is open — replacing worn laterals at the same time avoids a second disassembly. Also confirm your tank diameter is 26 inches before ordering; standpipe assemblies are not interchangeable between different tank sizes.
